June 17th marks a notable milestone in the life of Earl Claiborne (known as Squirrel to his fellow drivers), a truck driver for F.L. Moore & Sons Inc. in Concord, VA. On this day in 1952, Earl began driving a dump truck and did so for 13 years. In 1965, he started driving tractor trailers for Jamerson Brothers Trucking in Appomattox. From 1973-1985 he owned and operated a dump truck until he went back to Jamerson Brothers. In 1989, he began driving for H.H. Moore Trucking and finally in 1996, Earl began working for his present employer F.L. Moore & Sons, Inc. He is now driving a 2009 Peterbilt and hauls freight to Pennsylvania, Maryland, and North Carolina on a regular basis. Earl continues to be an exemplary employee for F.L. Moore & Sons, and the company takes pride in his ability to drive safely and efficiently after 57 years in the commercial driving industry. Keep on trucking, Earl.
